Notes

Launched in 1895 as the Greta, Laranda was designed and built by Scott & Co. at Greenock for the yard’s owner John Scott, C.B. Registered at 232 tons gross (115 net & 338 Thames), she measured 152 feet in length with a 22 foot beam and was engined by her builders. Sold in 1900 to Alfred Damoy-Picon of Marseilles, who renamed her Laranda, she reverted to British ownership after a couple of years when she was bought by J. Rolls Hoare of Mount Street, Mayfair. Subsequently sold to R.J.E. Baker of Hove in 1913, her name was then changed to Dorothy.
