Notes



This painting, dateable to 1650, is a study for Castillo's fresco in the Cathedral in Córdoba (310 by 192 cm.). Another study is in the Musée du Louvre (oil on canvas, 57 by 44 cm.) and a preparatory drawing for the figure of St. James, which shows his head in different positions, is in the Museo de Bellas Artes de Córdoba.
