Description

A set of three antique etchings on papers depicting different countries' landscape and architectural views. The first: Domenico Amici (Italian, 1808-1908) etching, Tempio di Vesta (Temple of Vesta), titled in Italian lower to the center; signed in the plate by the artist, lower left; dated, 1834, lower right. The second: After William Henry Bartlett (British, 1809-1854) etching, The Great Khan at Damascus, titled in English and French, lower to the center; printed by Fisher and Son and Co., London and Paris, stamped under the title. The Third: Joseph de Guignes (French, 1721-1800) etching, Vue du Lac Sy-hou, depicting a Chinese landscape; titled in French, lower to the center; signed in the plate by the artist, lower left; Guignes, a French sinologist and lexicographer lived in China for 17 years and was attached as interpreter to the Dutch embassy to Beijing. His atlas, Voyages a Peking, recounts his experiences in China with etchings printed after sketches that he made on the spot. All framed. Agreement

LOT CONDITION & DESCRIPTION: All items are sold "as is". The auction house does not warrant authenticity on any specific piece. THERE ARE NO RETURNS. We can only offer an opinion and the material facts about the item. It is up to the buyer to determine the authenticity before bidding and purchasing an item. If we state facts about gold or silver content or weight, it is sold as fact. Carat weights and quality are approximate to the best of our knowledge and may vary by appraiser. Measurements are in inches and are approximates but within reasonable margins. If we note restoration, repair, damage, or defect we will note it in the item condition. A bidder should read the report and accordingly. We try to depict the damage in online listings. Please request additional condition reports or images of specific items if necessary. Please note all items (lots) are sold "as is, where is". All items (invoices) must be paid within 7 days of the auction. A dispute will be filed for all unpaid invoices on the 8th day after the sale. We will not remove a dispute until the item is paid in full. Items that are paid for and left over for 60 days will be considered abandoned. An item may be disposed of with no proceeds due the original purchaser. By signing up for this auction the Bidder agrees to forfeit any purchase(s) which have not been picked up for more than 60 days after the auction. Items left over for 14 days will incur a $5 per day additional storage charge. The items will not be released until these additional handling fees are paid.

RESTRICTED ITEMS: It is the buyer's responsibility to abide by their local laws, including not bidding on or buying items that are restricted in their local area. We will not release a buyer from purchasing an item restricted in their area and disputes will be filed for any unpaid lots.

REGISTRATION: Online bidders must have a valid credit card on file with the online auction service provider. The highest bidder shall be determined by the Auction House in case two or more bidders place the same bid simultaneously. Certain lots may be subject to a reserve price which is a confidential minimum price below which such a lot will not be sold. The record of sale kept by the auctioneer and clerk will be taken as absolute and final in all disputes.

BUYER'S PREMIUM: A buyer's premium of 25% of the hammer price shall be added to each purchase to reach the total sales price. The total sales price is subject to applicable sales tax. Complete payment is required in cash, certified check, or Credit card. In the case of online auction purchases, payment must be received within 10 days. It is recommended that you use Overnight trackable method to make your payment.

REMOVAL and HANDLING CHARGES and FORFEIT OF ITEM: Items purchased may be removed once payment is made. All won items must be removed from our premises within 3 weeks of the auction. After 3 weeks, $5 per day per lot handling charges are assessed. Items will not be released until the handling charges are paid. Items left 60 days after the auction will be
considered abandoned to the auctioneer and may be disposed by the auctioneer at buyer's cost. BY AGREEING TO THESE TERMS, BUYER AGREES TO FORFEIT ALL CLAIM TO ANY PURCHASES WHICH ARE NOT PICKED UP 60 days after the auction with no payment for value or recourse.

CLERKING and INTERNET BID ACCEPTANCE ERRORS: During the online bidding portion of the auction, it is possible for the internet clerk to award the winning bid to a bidder that was not recognized by the auctioneer. In these unfortunate cases, the auctioneer's record takes precedence and not the online bidding record. The Auctioneer reserves the right to make this determination and this decision is final and binding.

ABSENTEE BIDS: We offer the absentee bid service as a convenience to our patrons. We execute your bid as if you were in the audience, attempting to obtain the item at the lowest price. Antique Arena Inc. will not be held responsible for error or failure to execute any bid. These bids must be in writing or submitted to info@antiquearena.com Please bid using our preset increments listed on the catalog front page. Please keep in mind that because bid position can be unpredictable, it may be possible for someone at the auction or another absentee bidder to buy the item for your top bid price. Bids of the same value from two or more bidders will be awarded to the bidder who placed their bid earliest. The auctioneer's decision is final.
