lower left, 20 in. x 22 in., in a period frame. Note: Mississippi artist Anne Wells Munger spent the winter months in Pass Christian and the summer months in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Munger studied at the Art Student Leagues and Boston Museum School and with Charles Woodbury. She was an active member of the Gulf Coast Art Association, Mississippi Art Association and Provincetown Art Association. In this painting, "French Quarter Patio", she focuses on the lush potted plants and bananas trees that grace the historic patio. Primarily known for her pastels of landscapes, the bright colors and handling of painting have a pastel like quality.
