Anna Heyward Taylor (SC, 1879 - 1956), Woodcut
numbered, titled and signed in lower margin "No 23 Saturday Morning - Anna Heyward Taylor," depicts vendors at the Old City Market in Charleston. Presented in a painted wooden frame. Anna Heyward Taylor was a native South Carolinian associated with the Charleston Renaissance art movement of the early 20th century. She is best known for her woodblock prints with examples of her work being held by several public collections including the Greenville Museum of Art, and the American Museum of Natural History.
