This work is from Menon's Bollywood series. 'In 1992, the artist began retrieving abandoned furniture, cupboards, and boxes from the junk market, painting them with her favourite images. Some were icons from popular cinema, while others mocked her own original artwork. The exhibition 'Follies in Fantastikal Furniture' (1992) was an early attempt by the artist to explore the hierarchies between high and low art.'
