Shooting Gallery.

Wood engraving on Japan paper, 1935. 171x216 mm; 6 3/4x 8 1/2 inches, wide margins. Edition of 50. Signed, titled and inscribed "50" in pencil, lower margin. A fine, dark impression.

One of 100 prints selected by the American Artist's Congress for their nation-wide exhibition "America Today" which was mounted simultaneously in 30 American cities in December of 1936. The selection jury consisted of the artists Arnold Blanch, Stuart Davis, Ernest Fiene, Hugo Gellert, William Gropper, Wanda Gag, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, Margaret Lowengrund, Louis Lozowick, George Picken, Harry Sternberg, Lynd Ward and Max Weber.
