Description

American, ca 1813, wool, indigo and robin's egg blue with red, double cloth weave with center seam and fringe at bottom, Snowball with Pine Tree Border pattern. Included is a photocopy of a 1932 newspaper article which shows Mrs. Nannie Cain of Indianapolis, Indiana, the grandniece of President Andrew Jackson, with the coverlet, it was being displayed at a local needlework exhibit. The article states it was woven by a family member of President Andrew Jackson; 87 x 76 in.
