The following literature is an excerpt from a book, a copy of which is attached verso: "The man in the doorway is Alfonzo Box, the last tenant on this farm. He came to this house at the age of fourteen, and lived there for approximately thirty years. Perhaps the two greatest events in the existence of this man were his birth and death. Recall Edgar Lee Masters in The New Spoon River, 'In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth; and I was born when I was born, and died when I died - one statement tells as much as the other!'"
