Publisher's blue cloth stamped in silver, in original dust jacket. 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (22 x 14 cm); 310 pp., illustrated with plates. Jacket with a gouge to the upper panel costing most of the word "The" in the title, other creases to extremities and small abrasions, light soiling visible in white areas, small losses at spine tips, a good example of a jacket prone to wear.
