The handle applied with a silver-gilt twisted wire, the terminal applied with a crest, the blade applied with a coat-of-arms and engraved with an inscription, marked on the blade, contained in a fitted gilt tooled blue leather case
7 5/8 in. (19.5 cm.) long
gross weight 3 oz. (100 gr.)
The arms are those of Ramsgate.

The inscription reads 'PRESENTED TO H.R.H. THE DUCHESS OF KENT C.I., G.C.V.O., G.B.E., 19TH MAY 1948'.

Presented to Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent on her visit to Ramsgate on 19 May 1948 when she opened the new landing stage of the Royal Harbour, Ramsgate and laid the foundation stone for the Ramsgate General Hospital extension.
