Description

FIRST EDITION OF THE TRANSLATION by English journalist and publisher Richard Phillips and part of his second "Collection of Voyages", published between 1819 and 1823. It was published the same year as the French edition which also includes the travels in Europe by de Montulé, knight of the French order of the Legion of honour. He reports on his travel with a steamboat from New Orleans along the Mississippi to Louisville and the West Indies. Illustrated with 6 plates depicting a.o. the carcass of a mammouth and views of New York, St. Domingo and the Niagara Falls next to 4 architecture or landscape views in the text.# Sabin 50230. - Returning an item after the striking of the hammer will not be accepted, whatever the reason put forward. Those items bought on order must be inspected within 8 days after receipt. Any return after this term will be refused
- All items of the catalogue with the mention « n.c. » (non collationné = not inspected) are not subject to return. Neither are those sold in lots (two items or more), works consisting in multiple volumes and periodicals or series. Please note that "inc." means, in French, "not complete".
