Altvater. Floral Watercolor. 10" x 14" Signed Lower Right. Catherine Tharp Altvater was born in Arkansas in 1907. She was a well known female watercolorist, whose works are in numerous museums, including the Museum of Modern Art. She was the first woman to hold an office in the American Watercolor Society.
