Georges Girardot was trained by the artist Albert Maignan in Paris. He was a member of the Society of French painters from 1883 and principally showed genre scenes at the Salon. He was awarded several medals for his works. The pictures shown here reveal the pre-delectation the artist had for scenes of village life. These pictures were treasured possessions of Girardot's family until very recently
