ALEXANDER NISBET PATERSON ARSA RSW (1862-1947) Tenerife c.1922 watercolour, signed 53cm x 35cm Provenance: Ewan Mundy Fine Art Limited. Private Scottish Collection. Note: Younger brother of James Paterson, the artist set up his own architectural practice in Glasgow in 1891. Began to paint in watercolour while in Paris studing at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He was married to the artist and the embroiderer Maggie Hamilton. The female figure is his wife. She was also painted by Guthrie. Private Scottish Collection.
