The board appears to have been screwed onto a supporting painted mount board by the artist, which has some surface dirt throughout and staining in the upper left corner. Bound appears sound. There are two slight knocks to the paint surface, one in the upper left corner with associated paint loss, and one in the centre towards the upper horizontal edge. There are several light surface scratches across the board, most apparent in the lower right quadrant and the upper right quadrant, with some very small flecks of paint loss at the lower centre, only visible upon extremely close inspection. There is some very minor surface dirt and studio detritus across the work, and more prominent surface matter along the upper horizontal side of the board. The oil paint appears to be strong and stable and, subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good condition. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching.
