Description

Alexander Fraser the Younger (British, 1828-1899)

Dead Heron
Signed "Alex. Fraser" l.l. and "Alx. [sic] Fraser" on the reverse, identified
on a presentation plaque.
Oil on panel, 7 1/8 x 10 5/8 in. (18.2 x 26.8 cm), framed.
Condition: Fine craquelure, surface grime, tape residue around the perimeter of the reverse.

Provenance: A private Massachusetts collection.

Condition Report

Fine craquelure, some in a web pattern, some horizontal craquelure which may be fine, old abrasions. Imperfections to the surface of the panel, including a small ding or dent to u.c. just below the frame liner. Minor paint losses to edges of panel from frame abrasion.
