ALES Mikolas 18. 11. 1852 Mirotice - 10. 7. 1913 Prague) Jan Zizka on horseback Pencil on paper, 15 x 20 cm, mounted, glazed, dated 1911, signed with initials lower right, verification of authenticity on the reverse, ex collection of Dr. Riegel. Czech painter, draughtsman and illustrator, he studied under J. Trenkwald and J. Sweerts at the Academy of Arts in Prague and was a member of the generation of artists who participated in the decoration of the National Theatre in Prague.
