ALES Mikolas (18. 11. 1852 Mirotice - 10. 7. 1913 Prague) The wind is blowing from the woods ... Pencil on paper, mounted, glazed, undated [1908-1909], signed with initials lower right, verification of authenticity by the artist's daughter M. Svobodova - Alsova on the reverse, National Gallery label no. K 39 338, ex collection Rudolf Rysavy. Czech painter, draughtsman and illustrator, he studied under J. Trenkwald and J. Sweerts at the Academy of Arts in Prague and was a member of the generation of artists who participated in the decoration of the National Theatre in Prague.
