Lot 3172A: Alaskan Native Scrimshaw Cribbage Pikonganna

Alaskan Native article cribbage board with scrimshaw. Carved by Aloysius Pikonganna. This example is the largest one that we have documented. 31 1/4" long and nearly 4" wide. It has a dog sled team, seals, walrus, and a polar bear with a scrimshawed coastline on the bottom. It appears to be complete and without repair or missing parts other than game pegs.
