Oval, 90mm. (3 1/2ins.) high

Notes

De Vicq was the Flemish Ambassador in Paris in the 17th century. He met Rubens in early 1622 and helped the artist achieve his first important international commission, as a token of thanks, Rubens drew portraits of de Vicq and his wife, the latter is now in the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the prototype for the present lot being in the Louvre, Paris.
