Ahmed Moustafa, Egyptian b.1943- Building of a pyramid with text from the Qur'an; screenprint in colours, signed and dated 75 in pencil, 57.7x86.5cm. Provenance: Gifted in 1975 by the artist and his wife to the current owner (may be subject to Droit de Suite). Note: Ahmed Mustafa was born in Egypt in 1945 but has lived and worked in England since 1974. He is an internationally known artist and leading authority on Arabic art and design. This print is an early work by the artist and depicts a pyramid with quotations from the Qur'an. He has exhibited at The Royal Academy in London, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, Whitechapel Art Gallery, London and abroad. Note: A hard-bound book titled 'Xenel Diary AH 1405 AD 1985' , signed, dedicated and dated 9.10.1984 by the artist is available with this lot; See Department
