She has done an exceptional and unique body of work in ceramic, in which she elevated the simple things of everyday life to the status of precious artifacts - a split watermelon, symmetrical piles of fruit, shoes carefully placed in display cabinets and still life tableaus, such as this lusciously coloured work. For Falk, these works are about "the veneration of the ordinary" in which these everyday objects become extraordinary.
