A small collection of from the artist's studio
comprising a plaster head and shoulders portrait bust of a The Rt.Honourable and Most Reverend Edward White Benson (base damaged) 33cm high, a full length maquette of a standing figure 32.5cm high, four portrait roundels of Annette H Schepel July 1889, two in bronze, one in plaster and one in wax 9cm diameter, a terracotta roundel portrait of a bearded gentleman and six further roundels (13)

Notes


Henry Hope Pinker was a highly regarded Victorian portrait sculptor. Three examples are held by The National Portrait Gallery, two of which are plaster examples. Perhaps Hope Pinker's best known work is of Charles Darwin, sculpted in Caen stone and on display at The Oxford University of Natural History. Other well known public commissions include that of W.E Forster in the Eastern Victoria Embankment Gardens.
