The canvas has an old and sensitive relining that has not flattened the paint surface. The painting is in very good condition, the surface is secure and the varnish appears even and only slightly discoloured. There are no major damages to the naked eye. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a thick varnish that fluoresces opaquely, making it difficult to evaluate any possible early restoration. Only very few, scattered strengthenings are visible in the darker tones. This lot is offered in a simple brown carved wood frame in good condition.
