Maria Carolina of Habsburg (1752-1814), Queen of Naples, facing left in lace-bordered white silk dress with fichu, white sash tied in bow at waist, lace cap with ribbons in her curling hair tied under her chin oval, 23/4 in. (70 mm.) high, gilt-metal mount PROVENANCE Pisko, Vienna, 18 May 1905 (as Archduchess Marie-Clementine, 54 Crowns). NOTES A signed version, dated of the sitter's death year 1814, was in the Brewster collection, sold Sotheby's, Geneva, 15 November 1995, lot 293.
