Lot 503: Abigail Keyes Brown Oil Canvas Evening Moon IL art

Abigail Keyes Brown (American, b.1891), moon over lake evening landscape, oil on canvas, 30" x 30", signed lower right. Very good condition but would benefit greatly from a professional cleaning. She studied painting in Chicago with Marques E Reitzel, Carl Krafft and William Owen and then married Roy Brown and returned to her birthplace. She was a member of the Rockford Art Association and from 1928 to 1942, exhibited her work there and at the Chicago Art Institute. (Bio info courtesy of Askart)
