Signed "E. Zuill" l.r., signed and dated "E. Zuill 1893" on the reverse.
Oil on canvas, 20 x 28 in. (50.8 x 71.1 cm), framed.
Condition: Patch reinforcements, retouch, minor surface grime.

Provenance: Private collection, Fall River, Massachusetts; Skinner Inc., American and European Paintings and Prints, November 19, 2004, Sale 2260, Lot 306.

N.B. Abbie Zuill, née Allen, was a woman painter of the Fall River School, studying under Robert Spear Dunning. Zuill was known to have signed works for family and friends to include her nickname "Ella," while professionally, she signed her works "A.L. Zuill" (1).
