A U.S.S. MAINE BRONZE MEMORIAL PLAQUE commemorating the destruction of the U.S.S. Maine. Designed by American sculptor, Charles Keck (American 1875-1951) in 1913 and cast by John Williams Foundry in New York. The tablet depicts Columbia holding a shield of patriotism with text "In Memoriam USS Maine Destroyed in Havana Harbor February 15, 1898 This Tablet is Cast From Metal Recovered From the USS Maine". 13 inches x 17.5 inches
