?????? ???? ????

Born in Kagoshima, Miyanohara Ken terminated his architecture studies at Waseda University due to chronic illness. This marked the beginning of his career as a ceramic artist and he began studying under luminaries such as Makuzu Kozan (1842-1916), Itaya Hazan (1872-1963), and Numata Kazumasa. The artist's 'Ceramic Flower Vase/Air' won a prize at the famous Nitten Exhibition and his works has also been selected for the Imperial Collection.
