Lozenge-shaped box with hinge at the left-hand upper corner, the cover inset with an oval enamel plaque painted with a view of a mountainous riverside landscape with a family in a rowing boat in the foreground, within a gold husk and black enamel fillet border, the corners of the lid painted with flowersprays on a translucent blue enamelled guilloché ground, the black enamelled outer border with parcel-white enamelled taille d'épargne gold decoration and bright-cut rims, the base centred by an oval guilloché panel enamelled in shades of translucent blue on an engine-turned rosette with black zig-zag borders, the four corners of the base panel enamelled in translucent blue and engraved en taille d'épargne with mirrored scrolls, within gold husk borders
