A SMALL BLUE AND WHITE SOFT PASTE OVOID VASE

18th century

The olive-shaped body tapering to a steep shoulder and short neck, the glaze with a dense pale crackle, painted in underglaze blue with a continuous scene of a fisherman holding a rod in a coastal or lakeside landscape with a mountainous backdrop with a small hut on a promontory with rockwork and pine.


5in. (12.7cm) high

Generally, in excellent overall condition. A few minute air bubble pinpricks but unobtrusive. Recommended.
