A Silver Koro [Incense Burner] Signed and marked Kado (Sugita Kado (1886-1955)), dated Taisho ju-san nen shogatsu [January, 1924] Modelled as a farm house, richly patinated in silver with the details of the house realistically rendered, the detachable thatched roof with ridge, pierced to allow the incense to escape through the opening, wood box inscribed Ginsei ie-gata go koro Ikki [A silver incense burner of house form] to the lid and Seijo Kogo ryo-heika yori Kanenomiya denka oitadaki Showa ninen sangatsu futsuka [a gift from Emperor and Empress Showa to Princess Kane, 2nd March, 1927] to the reverse of the lid 20cm. wide
