A RUSSIAN GILDED SILVER AND ENAMEL CIGARETTE CASE, PAVEL OVCHINNIKOV, MOSCOW, 1877 of rounded, rectangular shape, a shaped panel on the cover enameled en plein with the figure of a standing young peasant girl, the back with a similar shaped panel painted en plein with a seated peasant youth holding flutes, both panels surrounded by scrolling floral and foliate ornament against a stippled ground, the match safe with conforming decoration, the tinder cord with an enamel icon pendant of the Appearance of the Mother of God to St. Sergius of Radonezh marked with 91 standard length 4 in. (without tinder attachment) 10.2 cm
