Notes

This console table has characteristic legs terminating in lion's paw feet. Similar legs by Georges Alphonse Jacob Desmalter are illustrated in Denise Ledoux Lebard, Les Ebenistes du XIX Siècle, Paris, 1965, pp. 361; a mahogany gueridon, 363; a mahogany "table de famille" and 365; a burr-elm console-jardinière.
