A RARE MOLDED BLUE AND WHITE
'XIXIANG JI' FOLIATE SAUCER DISH

Chenghua mark, Kangxi

Finely potted and elegantly conceived, painted to the interior center within a molded rounded-eight-pronged panel with Zhang Sheng and Cui Yingying at a pavilion entrance on a garden terrace with a
taihu rock nearby, the cavetto molded with lotus petals and painted with eight ribboned Daoist objects alternating with flower sprays below further molded lotus petals painted with a cell pattern to the rim, the exterior identically molded and painted with further ribboned objects and flower sprays above the short tapering foot and with the 'eight trigrams' dividing flowerhead cells at the molded petal rim, an encircled
Chenghua six-character mark to the base.


8 3/4in (22.2cm) diam

Condition Report

Generally, in excellent overall condition. A few minute air-bubble pinpricks and insignificant glaze pulls to the surface but unobtrusive. Highly recommended.
