the subjects being mostly composers, musicians and actors including Berlioz, Batta, Vestris, Strauss, Caraffa, Wellington, Lord Brougham, Paganini and others, altogether circa 30; also combined with six plaster cups in Baroque style, bracket supports, some figures broken, most bearing the red wax seal of Jules Sohn Jean-Pierre Dantan (1800-1869) was a French sculptor, best remembered for his portraits of men of political, artistic and musical fame. His renderings en caricature found great appeal, parallel to those by his contemporary Honoré Daumier.
