Notes

The above lot was cast from the relief commissioned by the Earl of Ellesmere which was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1836. Sir Richard Westmacott studied under his father, Richard Westmacott the Elder before going to Rome to study with Canova. He returned to England in 1797.
