Each octagonal and on conforming foot, with reeded borders, urn-shaped sockets, and detachable octagonal nozzles, the bases engraved with a coat-of-arms, the nozzles engraved with a crest, each marked on base and nozzle

The arms are those of Cumberland impaling Hobart for Richard Cumberland, son of the playwright Richard Cumberland (1732-1811), and Albinia Hobart (1759-1853), daughter of the Hon. George Hobart who became in 1793 3rd Earl of Buckinghamshire. They married on 14 July 1784. (2)
