A PAIR OF FAMILLE-ROSE TRUMPET-SHAPED BEAKER VASES

Each painted on one side with branches of fruiting pomegranate and peony rising from a gnarled trunk near rockwork and chrysanthemum and to the other side with flowering peony sprays and a gnarled trunk with rockwork and flowers, the scene to each side divided by a single colorful butterfly, the swelling lower body tapering to the foot and painted in bright pastel enamels with slender slightly wavy lappets suggestive of
lishui waves on robe hems, a pink-ground lotus band edged in
ruyi lappets at the everted brown-dressed rim. (2)


14in (35.6cm) high

Generally, in good overall condition. A few enamel losses but mostly unobtrusive. Some iron spots and air bubble pinpricks as is often seen. Both with large irregular drill holes to the bases for the fitting of electricity (approx. 2cm across).
