Provenance:
An Italian private collection

For two closely comparable plates of the same date see Caròla-Perrotti 1990, cat. no. 257. After the Napoleonic occupation, the Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea ceased to exist, and porcelain was ordered from France to boost French export, often decorated in Naples. This porcelain plate was also imported from France, and decorated in Naples by the workshop of Raffalele Giovine.
