CIRCA 1785, THE MOUNTS ATTRIBUTED TO PIERRE GOUTHIERE
The oval jasper bowl with reeded rim wrapped with trailing grapevines and cast handles, the oval base pierced with rosettes and interlaced strapwork, on incurved supports with trailing husks enclosing an acanthus-cast fluted stem, on an oval base with outset corners engraved with scrolls and bellflowers and on gadrooned toupie feet, the jasper with hairline crack
7¼ in. (18.5 cm.) high; 10 in. (25.5 cm.) wide overall; 5½ in. (14 cm.) deep
