Thomas Atkinson, Ormskirk, (fl. c. 1767-1790s)
Having a 12-inch square dial, the chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, engraved "Atkinson Ormskirk" in cursive script, the matted centre with foliate engraving and ringed false winding squares over a terrestrial calendar square, all within scroll-cast spandrels, the knopped four-pillar movement countwheel-striking on a bell, the case having a broken pediment with simulated verre eglomise frieze, over turned columns, the yoke-topped trunk door between quadrant columns, the panelled base lacking feet, 207cm high, (sold with weight, pendulum and key)
