A LARGE RUSSIAN GILDED SILVER AND PLIQUE-À-JOUR ENAMEL CIGARETTE CASE, PAVEL OVCHINNIKOV, MOSCOW, CIRCA 1895 of rounded rectangular shape, one side of the case depicting a colorful peacock perching on a branch among numerous exotic blooms, the other side depicting a boyar warrior with sword and shield standing at the edge of a lake at sunset with an owl perched in a flowering branch above him, the borders in light blue, turquoise, and green, all against a stippled gilt ground, with gilded thumbpiece height 5 in. 12.7 cm
