Description

A LARGE NEOLITHIC PAINTED POTTERY SHALLOW BOWL

Majiayao culture, Yangshao phase

Freely painted in black swirls and circles roughly divided in three registers, the rolled rim decorated with similar design and 'fishnet' pattern, the exterior decorated with 'wave' patterns, the beige pottery burnished smooth with light earth encrustations.
