A LARGE NEOLITHIC PAINTED POTTERY JAR

Possibly Xindian culture, Gansu or Qinghai province

Decorated with large half-circle streaks on the sloping shoulder above a band of horizontal lines, the straight neck decorated with three registers of bands below rolled mouth rim, the body with a pair of loop handles tapering down to a small flat foot, the beige clay slightly burnished with few remains of encrusted earth.
