Typed Document Signed ("James Stewart"), 27 pp, dated May 11, 1951, between Stewart and Universal Pictures Company, for the use of Stewart's services playing the character of "Scott Burton" (later changed to "Glyn McLyntock") in the film Bend of the Snake (later changed to Bend of the River (1952)); Stewart also initials a paragraph in the document. Together with a Typed Document Signed ("James Stewart"), a 16 pp "Exhibit A" amendment to the previous document. Bend of the River is one of the many western films that Stewart favored in the 1950s and 1960s. Under the direction of Anthony Mann, the film co-stars Rock Hudson, Julie Adams, and Arthur Kennedy.
