Lot 47: A HALLMARKED SILVER 1904 PRESENTATION KEY, for the Sidmouth War Memorial Service Men's Club, presented on the 22nd of June 1922, to General Sir John Hart Dunne, KCB, in its original presentation case from R.H. Passmore, High Street, Sidmouth. Key made by Marples and Beasley, Birmingham. General Sir John Hart Dunne, KCB (1835-1924), was a long term resident of Sidmouth, and a veteran of the Crimean War of the mid 19th Century, having involvement in most of the major conflicts of the campaign. He serviced in the army for 50 years, and after his retirement in 1902, was awarded the KCB in 1906.
