The present service appears to have been made for Joas Tillard, born 1690, youngest son of Abraham Tillard of London and his wife Mary Bateman, who married on 2nd April 1726, Katherine West (died 1757). Sotheby's would like to thank Angela Howard for her assistance in the cataloguing of this lot.
