A GROUP OF THREE EMBROIDERED MANDARIN SQUARE SETS INCLUDING TWO MILITARY RANK BADGES AND ONE CIVILIAN, China, 19th ct., Various embroidery techniques including couched gold threads, the badge sets complete (two-part square for chest and one for back) - Property of the former German counselor Dr. Joachim Schulze (1880-1954), who was living in China from 1907 to 1940, his stays being only shortly interrupted by trips to the Phillippines and Java. He did his military service in Qingdao and lived mostly in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Harbin and Changsha - Good condition 28,5x28,5 cm
